Who We Are

I know that so many of you might have been directed to our blog from a friend or a friend of a friend or a friend of a friend of a friend. Whoever you are and however you got here-thank you. Thank you for taking time from your day to pray for us. Thank you for interceding for someone who might be a stranger to you. Thank you for sharing our story and asking others to pray for us. Because of you the circle of prayer surrounding us has grown larger and we feel your prayers. They sustain us-truly.

So who are we? Well I am just a 31 year old girl from Oklahoma and he is just a 35 year old boy from New York City who met and fell in love 10 years ago. My husband is the strength of our family. His love language is acts of service and he loves to serve his family and others. He is a loyal protector and defender of everyone he is close to. He is silly and he is faithful. He likes to play video games and watch shows like Bridezillas which I tease him mercilessly for but it never phases him.

After we married we longed for a baby and he didn't come easy-but he came. Our precious 11 month old son Milo is proof that God is a God of miracles.

In 2010 our life was thrown for a crazy loop when my sweet husband was diagnosed with cancer. He had surgery did chemo and it went away.......for awhile. Then it came back he did chemo and then onto another surgery which is how we got here in the first place. We have been waging a 3 year battle against something that just got a whole lot more complicated. But still...He is faithful and He not only understands our pain He is right there in the midst of it.

We don't wake up in the morning and put on our super hero Christian capes. We just love God. And we believe that He will do what He says He will do. We believe that He has the best plan for our lives and that things like this are never in His plan. But the thing about Him is that He is able to turn things like this around to use it for His glory. And at the heart of everything-that is who we are as a family. Just normal people who want our lives to display His glory. That doesn't mean it is easy to walk through what we have walked through. But we just make a choice to keep moving forward and keep trusting in Him-that He won't fail us.

Proof positive of His power at work is you-that's right you. Your prayers for our life are changing things shifting what is happening in the present and what is to be in the future. It is moving God's heart and it is filling ours with hope. You are now a very special part of our story and each chapter would not be complete without each of you.

So from every single member of my family-we thank you and we love you.

Sarah (and Joel and Milo)
