Hi All! Just a quick note to let everyone know that we made it to Houston. Since Joel just had his surgery 7 weeks ago we were worried that we would have to make a lot of stops to let him stretch out where his incision is. Thankfully we only had to stop once-in Dallas-& we conveniently chose to make our stop at our favorite cupcake place :)
Tomorrow is our first day at MD Anderson. We don't know what tests they plan on doing while we are here & we don't know how long they will keep us here. Joel keeps joking that we will just "go where the wind takes us" since our old lives were so scheduled & these days we operate day to day. We do know that he will meet with the Oncologists & tomorrow will be the day when they order all of the tests that they plan to run on him. We are thinking that they will run some tests tomorrow then we will be off Saturday & Sunday, then come back on Monday to finish the tests. They have told us that we will be here from 5-7 days.
I am going to do my best to blog every night that we are here just to keep everyone updated. A little side note-whenever you guys are praying for Joel-would you mind saying a little prayer for me as well? The craziest thing happened to me, I came down with a really bad case of pink eye. I have never had pink eye before & I have no idea where I got it from but my left eye is totally bright blood red & itchy. So before we went on the road I had to go get on antibiotics to clear it up. Aside from the fact that it makes driving hard-it is really embarrassing to be meeting all of these Dr's with my eyes all funky! I just want to be able to concentrate on Joel & so it has been an annoyance to have this thing going on with me. So if you wouldn't mind please praying that it clears up quickly.
Wanted to send out a special thanks to everyone who called or texted us with prayers & well wishes for our trip!!! Thanks friends. We love you. You bless our lives more than you will ever know.
Sarah & Joel
