First of all let me wish all of the Dads out there a Happy Fathers Day! Since this is Joel's first Fathers Day we wanted to do what we could to make it super special. We started off the morning with great progress-Joel got the last tube removed from his chest AND got moved out of ICU. Yay!!! He had been there for 10 days and it was difficult. You always have staff in and out of your room and it is very hard to get any rest. Now that he is in his own room we are hoping that he will be able to really rest and get caught up. From here it's just a waiting game for our referral to go through to get him into a rehab facility so he can start full-time physical therapy. We know that once he gets there he will really work hard and thrive. We also know that getting out of ICU is one step closer to getting him home with his family. For Fathers Day my family all came up to the hospital so we could celebrate together. We gave Joel his gift, which his friend Jess graciously went and picked up for me because it was located at Bass Pro and there's no way on earth I would have ever found it! We brought Joel lunch from his favorite place, Asian Fusion. Milo came up with his Dada's gift and also with signs and balloons and my Mom and Sister came to help celebrate. After they left Joel fell asleep reading a magazine that we brought him, totally worn out from a full day. Below are some pics of our celebration as well as the white board in our room. Note what Joel's goal was for the day! Thank you for your prayers. Please please keep them up because we need them! We will not stop praying and believing until we see Joel fully restored. Today he told me "I think this may have happened for people to see God do a miracle in me, because nothing is impossible for Him." That's right my love, nothing.
You hold my every moment You calm my raging seas You walk with me through fire And heal all my disease I trust in You, I trust in You
I believe You're my healer I believe You are all I need And I believe You're my portion I believe You're more than enough for me Jesus You're all I need
Nothing is impossible for You Nothing is impossible Nothing is impossible for You You hold my world in Your hands
