Pray for Ellis

Life can change in an absolute instant. I learned that with my husband and am now learning it again. Yesterday morning my sweet Ellis woke up and was cranky and lethargic. She started to run a slight temp so I made an appointment with her pediatrician. Once her pediatrician looked her over she had a temp of 101 and we were immediately sent to the ER of our local hospital. When we arrived they started to run tests on her and her oxygen levels plummeted. They called an ambulance who immediately took us to Children's Hospital in Oklahoma City. When we got here her oxygen was still dangerously low so they put her on a vent to help her breathe. Tests came back and we found out she has bacterial meningitis. They have no idea how it was contracted since she is so young. What we do know is it's an extremely serious situation for a child her age. We are in ICU and she's in critical condition. She's still on a vent. She's had some swelling to her brain.

So here we are as a family, again, asking for your prayers for a miracle. I don't pretend to understand why this is happening. It's devastating. We've been through so much as a family with my husband's death and the battle for his life in those last few weeks. Needless to say hospitals and with doctors is not our favorite place to be. It was traumatic to walk through it all with my husband and it's been equally as heartbreaking and traumatic to walk through this with my baby girl.

All that being said, we still declare the goodness of the Lord. We believe He has purposes for this little girls life and we believe she will live to declare those purposes. We believe no attack on her life will prosper. We believe for a full recovery for our little girl. Please pray with us.

Psalm 61:1-4

Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer. From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the foe. I long to dwell in your tent forever and take refuge in the shelter of your wings.
