Last month at our church we were talking about gifts & using your gifts to bless others around you. So many people think that you have to be a pastor or a worship leader or an elder etc. to minister to others lives. This just isn't true. While those people are certainly more visible in their roles-we can all make a difference in the lives of others. We have been in the hospital for many days already. Yes, the nurses & the doctors bless us & touch our lives daily. But do you know who has blessed & touched our life the most at the hospital? The people who are bringing us the food & are cleaning our rooms. They are always so nice to us & respectful when they come into our room. There is one woman in particular that cleans our room for us that knows who we are by now. She always comes in "How are you baby? How do you feel? Do you get to go home soon?" Then, every time before she leaves she looks us in the eye, smiles, & tells us to have a very blessed day. Most people would just dismiss her job as cleaning-but she views her job as an opportunity to bless the lives of others. Because of that she has blessed me more than she will ever know. And she has challenged me to look for ways in my own life to be a blessing to others & to show the love of Christ. Really, that's what it's all about right? Just a thought I have been thinking about lately. We leave this Wednesday night to go to MD Anderson, in Houston & will be there until Friday night. All day on Thursday Joel will be having tests run on him to check for spreading as well as check on his heart. Chemo can be hard on your heart so they will be running tests on it every 6 weeks to make sure that it is still strong & working properly. Then on Friday we will meet with our specialist to talk about Joel's progress. We are hoping that we will get his test results that day & we will share them with you. Please be praying for safe travels for us on this trip, for peace, & for clear test results. It is not the easiest thing to go get his tests done-but this is the verse I stand on:
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Phil 4:6-7
Have a great day all. We love you!
