Just like that, my baby boy is Four. It seems like such a big number. My Mama heart is having a tough time accepting how old he is. At least once a week Milo tells me "Mommy, no matter how big I get, I'll always be your baby." Yes you will buddy, yes you will.
Milo Andrew is the most special boy. He is wise, mature beyond his years and is constantly asking questions that are "above my pay grade". He is curious, wants to know the answers and remembers absolutely everything you tell him. Joy oozes from every pore in his body, wherever he goes laughter is sure to follow. He is a fierce protector of both his Mommy and baby Sister and is always taking care of everyone around him. I'm so proud of my boy. My entire world changed 4 years ago when he was born. Being his Mommy is the greatest gift of my life. Can someone hand me a tissue please? Good grief.
I've written before of Milo's obsession with all things Star Wars. That has yet to die down. If anything it has only increased. When I asked him what he wanted for his party this year I knew the answer would be Star Wars.
I love to throw a good party, but I've never done a "themed" children's party. I thought it might be a challenge. Thankfully Star Wars is all the rage these days and I was able to get lots of decor from Dollar Tree and also Amazon. The crowning glory was his Star Wars cake, made by a local bakery here in town. It turned out amazing.
I like to keep parties more family oriented for now, so we had all our family over to enjoy pizza and cake. Then we had a Star Wars scavenger hunt, light saber duals and a Darth Vader pinata. Milo wanted our family to be in costume so I came as Princess Leia, Ellis was the most adorable baby Yoda and Milo was a Jedi Knight.
At the end of his party he told me "Mommy, this was the best day of my whole life." My job is done. All I've ever wanted is for my children to be healthy, happy and know how loved they are. I know Milo was feeling the love from his family in abundance that day.
Below are some pics from the big shebang. Hope you enjoy.
