I've been honest before in sharing that cooking doesn't exactly come easily for me. It's something I had to learn after my husbands death. I still wouldn't call myself a "cook" per se, but I can follow a recipe to a T & manage not to screw it up. My family tells me they love my cooking, I put that in the "win" category.
Since I always cook with recipes I'm on a constant search for good cooking websites. My criteria for a website is this:
#1-My family doesn't eat meat, so the site has to have a ton of meat free recipes.
#2-It has to attempt to be healthy 90% of the time.
#3-The recipes have to be clear, concise and easy to follow.
#4-It has to have drool worthy pictures that inspire me to cook.
Thankfully I've found a site that nails all of the above criteria, Pinch of Yum.
The first recipe I ever made on Pinch of Yum was a Healthy Mexican Casserole. Don't let the word casserole fool you. To this day it is one of my families all-time favorite things I've ever made. The meal is so substantial a traditional meat eater wouldn't even notice the meat was missing.
From there I've gone on to make several of her recipes and every single one of them has turned out amazingly.
Another thing I like is the variety. She has everything from Mexican to Italian, Thai to Spanish, and everything in between. I like to be adventurous with my eating and I love finding meals that take me out of my comfort zone, allowing me to try something new. This site does that and more.
If you want a cooking website giving you easy recipes that are full of flavor, you'll want to give Pinch of Yum a try. Oh, did I also mention all of the recipes are free? You can't go wrong.
